MODERN GLASS DESIGN

Renowned domestic and foreign artists work together in our shop to make sacral glazed surfaces as well as developing various architecturally related new artistic possibilities.  The range reaches from classic leaded glazed surfaces with extravagant painting, to new techniques such as sandblasting, screen-printing, glass gluing, airbrush or various fusing techniques.  With artists, architects and owners working together on each object or structure, the specific aesthetic solution is developed and executed.  Numerous churches and secular buildings in this country and abroad were fitted with artistically designed glass windows from our workshop.

MOSAICS

Next to ”classic” glass mosaics, with its traditional production being very much alive in our efforts, numerous natural stone mosaics have also been manufactured according to designs from renowned artists.  Additionally, three-dimensional designed objects out of glass and natural stone are manufactured in our workshop.

GLASS RESTORATION

Our own restoration department is devoted to the preservation and safe keeping of historical glass paintings.  According to the latest scientific findings, and with the collaboration of researchers and monument caretakers from all over the world, the care of our historical heritage is provided for.  Objects from the Middle Ages to modern history are restored to and conserved at the highest niveau.

PROTECTION OF DELICATE GLASS PAINTINGS

The protection of priceless glass pieces through an insulated thermal protective glazing is a specialty of our workshop.  This protective glazing prevents the effect of pollutants on sensitive historical glass surfaces.  Each structure needs an individually designed protective glazing.  Our workshop has dealt with the research and development of such systems for over 30 years.

RESEARCH CAPABILITIES

The stained glass painting workshop, in particular the restoration department, has for many years dealt with the analysis of the very different problems of historical glass paintings.  For example, a documentation system for restoration was developed, and with the collaboration of acknowledged scientists, methodical testing of gluing material and volatile binding material was undertaken.  The workshop was a member of a large-scale research program of the Ministry for Research and Technology. This research program lasted several years and addressed the problem of the protection of the outer glazed surfaces.
